Nice all-around jacket

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I am happy with this jacket. I ordered a L in this Rab jacket and a L in a similar Black Diamond jacket and I'll keep both. I would note that the sizing is very different between the two. I am 5'8" with an hourglass shape so I like jackets that zip comfortably from my hips to my chest and have long enough sleeves. I also live in a cold climate so as the seasons go on I will layer under or over a puffer when going outside. The Rab jacket is slim fitting and I probably couldn't get away with much more than a light shirt underneath, but it's more flattering than the Black Diamond one. I also think that since it's slim I could wear a shell over it. The sleeves are barely just long enough and the zipper zips and doesn't bunch up. The Black Diamond jacket in L is generous all over including the sleeves. The Rab jacket comes with a stuff sack, Black Diamond does not. The Black Diamond one will be better if I'm wearing a thick sweater or just want a loose fit, but I wouldn't be able to wear a shell over the black Diamond jacket.

Grapefruit colour has a blackness

Grapefruit colour has a blackness in the fabric which makes the Rab look dirty so I returned it. I do have 3 others exactly same shape different colours & love them. It was also 2 sizes down from my normal size.

This was a winner with

This was a winner with my wife. Very light weight. Great freedom of movement. This is now her go to layer for these spring days with clear cold mornings. Excellent quality, packs down small. Extremely satisfied. Very highly recommended.

This has become my favorite jacket. Purchased a few months ago, I originally got it for spring skiing, but I wear it everywhere. It's silky soft, fits beautifully, is incredibly warm yet light and breathable, and I love the deep blue color with contrasting green lining. I've been wearing down jackets for decades from top brands, but never Rab. This is the best. I hope Rab keeps making this same jacket, so I can get another when this one wears out!

I needed a new packable down jacket and am so glad I chose this one! I’m 5’10” and it’s hard to find women’s jackets that aren’t too short in the sleeves and the length. This one is perfect. And the color is beautiful.

Shame that no longer has packable pocket. Some come with stuff sack sadly not the one I purchased and shop unable to help. Come on Rab, needs to be "packable" into something!

5 years in and still a great product

5 years into owning this coat it’s still a go to product, it’s a functional product that keeps your warm without overheating. The quality has ensured it remains tidy and serves well. During the winter months it’s a daily wear, I can’t recommend highly enough.

Sleeve ripped right away, feathers leak

I am a big fan of Rab jackets. I bought the Rab Neutrino here many years ago and that jacket kept me warm in the harshest weather, literally best coat I ever owned. Last spring I bought this lightweight version and literally the sleeve ripped in the first couple weeks of use this fall. I'm not sure if the fabric has become less resistant or what but now there is a small hole and feathers are leaking everywhere. For the price of this jacket, I'm extremely frustrated. So buyer beware.
