Well designed and stylish!

These are wonderfully well designed and stylish for a hiking pant. The material and color are lovely and the stretch is ideal for when you want to look stylish but need a technical pant for hiking and scrambling. They are true to size with just the right amount of room for activity, however, the length is above my ankle! I think I’ll keep them because I like them so much, but being 5’6” and a size 6 (140 lb) I don’t usually need to order a tall.

Older versions fit perfectly. New design has gigantic hips, so they look pretty ridiculous on me. Glad I got them on sale

Excellent update to the original Halle

Overall I am very happy with these with a few minor complaints. Pros: The changes to the original design (larger front pockets, slightly higher rise, crotch gusset) are all improvements as far as I'm concerned. These pants are one of the few women's outdoor pants with long/tall sizes available and I was worried that the redesign would negatively affect the fit, but my fears were fortunately unfounded. I take the same size in these as in the original Halle straight pant. Cons: I'm still not a fan of the rear pocket design (flaps get in the way and they're still not big enough to really hold much), and the thigh pocket is still too small to be useful. Adding a side cell phone pocket would be very much appreciated. Other thoughts: The fabric seems different from the old version so I can't speak to durability. My old Halles lasted through several years of hard wear, I'm hoping that these will work just as well. These no longer have the roll-up straps and snap attachments on the legs; I don't mind this as I never used them and the pant legs are slim enough to hold themselves up when rolled.

I have four of the original Prana Halle pants which I love but are worn out and wanted to get a light color one for very hot expeditions in deserts. The Prana Halle II is such a terrible design, my cell phone won't fit on the side leg pocket. The pants are high waist which makes it super unconformable and unattractive, and it bulges on the crotch area making it look so odd, like it has extra space to fit a couple of avocados. I wish Prana brought back the old design which worked just fine. And please more lighter colors for hot weather areas! These Halle II are going back.

Just received these today, took off my original 16T Halle to try these on, same size. The higher rise feels better! The newer fabric is thinner, too shiny. They feel tighter in the thigh. I do like the straight fit, wouldn't mind if they were a bit more fitted at the ankle. All in all, I would send them back because I don't like shiny fabric, but I like the rise and feel like I can bend over in these without a moon peaking out, so I'll keep them.

Fragile Fabric

In the first generation Halle pants, I cross country skied, hiked, and biked. The fabric was indestructible in the first generation Halle pants, including dogs clawing. It was highly windproof, breathable, and waterproof. Halle II fabric is much more vulnerable to scratches from dogs jumping on you or sitting on asphalt. I've only had it for a month, and they already look a lot more "used" than my first Halle Pants. The style had an update but the length is much shorter in Straight pants, which may work on some people. These are fine looking pants, and they'll serve you well as long as you stay away from physical activities outside.

Almost didn’t buy because some reviews said the Halle pant wasn’t as good as before. I love them, 5’8”, 143, size 8T, fit is perfect. Like the material, not heavy, can move well in them. Nice pocket for my cell phone. Bought the camo & the rust color. Washed just fine. Very happy with these pants.
