Depends on water quality.
I would like for someone at the company to reach out to me if possible regarding the filters used. I've used the Camp bag and the Hiker Pro both in Boundary Waters and they worked flowlessly with amazing flow and results.. however, back here in Indiana I've done multiple trips with my Scout Troop and the local reservoir we use for our water source clogs the filters in both of these units in one day. I've tried everything over the last year to figure out how to resolve the issue, but the flow just stops after using a few times.

Filter worked great!
Just returned from five days in the southern Canyonlands. Once we found a good water source, the filter worked great. We timed the filling of a three-liter bottle at about five minutes.

Water, Filters, and Bags! Oh My!
The Katadyn Gravity BeFree 6L Microfilter is certainly a mouthful to say. However, while it may be a vocal exercise, it also provides mouthfuls of refreshingly filtered water. I had the benefit of taking this product while backpacking and camping with family and friends. Unbeknownst to me, my friends had brought two other gravity filters with them. This allowed me to directly compare this product with two styles and brands. In brief, due to the Katadyn’s filtration speed, ease of cleaning, and ease of refilling this filter became the primary, and eventually, only filtration system we used. I had no issues with the product. It is light and easy to pack tightly in my backpack. Even though this product is a little more expensive than some alternatives, it is definitely worth it. You won’t regret buying this product and you will never look back.

Super fast and easy
I've only done an at home test so far, but I am really impressed.

Platypus Replacement
Loved my 3L platypus gravity works. Eventually got clogged up. One thing I didn't like about it was having to backwash the filter to clean it out and it never worked very well and was time consuming. The ability to removed the filter and swish it in the water is a game changer. Overall I like the design of this better than Platypus. I realize now I should've always chosen a 6L bag. Nice either solo or in a group. Just fill it up once and have clean water for the rest of the evening and into the morning with minimal weight addition. Was nervous to replace my platypus because it's always ranked high on lists, but have been very satisfied with this filter. I'll see how it's running a few years from now.

Simple design and very effective for groups in the backcountry. This packs down to a reasonable size to fit in a backpacking pack, and takes all the headache out of clean water in the backcountry.

We use this for backpacking and it works great. Simply dip the bag in some water, roll the top and off you go. The water flow leaves a bit to be desired, however the filter and hanging system are fantastic. Any first timer could use this with ease right out of the box. I found it a super simple setup, just assemble, clean and hit the trails. I would recommend buying a spare filter cartridge in case of emergency.

Base camp water
Easy peazy like other katadyn products. Great for a backpackers camp/base camp. Your buddies will stop filtering water though, be aware. Make sure they carry some extra whiskey for you.

Love this thing for my solo or group long range movements. Had the older style for a couple years and recently picked up the new version. Great flow, light weight and durable to last.

Great at camp! When we went backpacking with friends, this was the best addition to our equipment. It worked so well, a little awkward to do alone, but maybe I just need to work on technique!
