Smooth, Simple, and Bomber

I've been fortunate enough to run this post for the last several months, and good golly has it impressed. Out of the box, the first thing that I noticed is the unique saddle clamp. The angled bolts on the sides mean that you can use pretty much any style of hex wrench to get things fastened down, and the easy access means you can get out on the trail that much faster. Once the clamps are properly torqued, the saddle is totally locked in; even on some fairly hard hits the saddle didn't move at all. SDG also includes travel adjusting shims with the post. I had to shim mine down from 200mm to 190mm to fit in my S5 Specialized Enduro frame, and making that travel adjustemnt is super straightforward. What this means for you is that you can maximize your available travel even if you're unsure that the longer version will fit your bike. If you need to bump the travel down by a hair to make everything fit, you can make the necessary adjustment in minutes. Arguably the biggest hit for this post, and SDG in general, is the durability. Dropper posts have never been known as the most reliable components on bikes, and while they'vecome a long way since their inception, anybody whorides regualrly has almost certainly had some kind of issue with their dropper. In this respect, SDG absolutely shines. After many miles of fairly heavy duty riding, this post is operating as smooth as it was out of the box, and there is virtually no side to side play in the saddle. The Tellis V1 is one of, if not the , most reliable post on the market, and the V2 simply makes improvements upon that. While not the shortest post on the market, If you can fit this on your bike I recommend grabbing one, as you'll get years of worry free use from it. I can't recommend this post enough, so if you're in the market for a new dropper, be sure to take a serious look at this one!

Everything I could ask for in a dropper.

I've had the opportunity to ride the V2 for a few months now and I am loving it. Swapping saddles and making adjustments with the improved saddle clamp is so easy! The bolts on the side mean I can loosen and tighten the bolts with a Y-wrench with plenty of room to spare. Getting proper torque is important for the clamp bolts, but once it's set up, my saddles haven't budged at all despite some awkward hits on the trail. The rest of the post's setup is very simple and straightforward including the travel adjustments. I have the 230mm travel on my Ripmo (L) and ended up needing to shim it down to 220mm. A couple of minutes was all it took without even removing the post from the bike. The shorter stack height from the clamp and the shorter actuator of the V2 allow the post to just barely fit at the 220mm travel setting with the post slammed in the frame for my saddle height. It ends up bending the housing a bit to exit the frame near the BB but it doesn't impact the functionality of the post or bind the cable. If I wanted the housing to be a little cleaner, I could shim the post to 210mm and just not have the post as slammed in the frame. I love having that amount of travel though! The post is super smooth and has zero side-to-side play after months of use. The Tellis V1 is known for having a stellar reputation for durability and reliability. It's far and away the post with the least amount of warranty claims. I expect to have many seasons on this post without issue, and to me, that's worth the slightly longer stack height and length over other posts.
