Actual shoe not as pictured

I really wanted to like the shoe, but i didn’t get past the aesthetics. The huge Saucony logo in the image shows black, which would make it a little more subtle. The logo on the actual shoes however is light grey. Very frustrating.

Not perfect but pretty good ... and fast, too!

I bought these last winter. They don't protect as well from the cold as the Peregrine Ice and lacing the forefoot doesn't get very snug. The other downside is that the outsole began shedding/peeling it's "paint" colour almost immediately - a cosmetic flaw. But I'm delighted with the fit, especially the overall support and heel snugness. And they're a fast shoe! Last weekend I shaved over a minute off my time on a 9km trail race. Being 64 years old, I doubt that I'm getting much faster. LOL So these shoes are making a difference when it comes to speed. I quite like them and would buy again as a summer trail shoe. Hoping Saucony will address some of the shortfalls, which are relatively minor.

Unexpectedly Painful

Not comfortable. The design will make your toes curl up at the end. This gave me an unexpected foot injury. The black base of the shoe is only thinly coated in black so it will gets scratches to show white. Why didn't you make it all black?

As close to perfect as any shoe I’ve tried

I have run in the Saucony Endorphin Speed, Edge, Shift, Rift, exodus ultra, and peregrine. The Rift is by far my favourite. The only thing that could make it better is a slightly lower heel to toe drop. Don’t change the upper. It is perfect!

Lacrosse Official

4 and a half stars would be more appropriate. GREAT shoe, but the best shoe is a different pair of Saucony's I have! I officiate girls Lacrosse and the weight and cushion of this shoe is awesome. The only negative I have is with breaking them in the back of the shoe is a bit high and while working to break them in has caused blisters. Once fully broken in, they are the best shoes I have had for running up and down the field.

Rift Not For Me.

Fit smaller than the Xodus which had been my got to trail shoe. I suppose that’s the risk of ordering online. Made the mistake of giving them their first real try during an Ultra race. Really did a number on my feet with my toes crashing into the front of the shoe with every downhill strike. After a good streak with the Xodus decided to upgrade to the rift. Will now go back to the Xodus.

Comfortable, light, very stable

Bought few weeks ago, I went out twice on different type of trails with those Rift and I really like them. Comfortable, very light and with good ankle support.

Missed the mark

I was excited about the prospect of another shoe to rotate with my Xodus Ultras. However, the Endorphin Rift missed the mark for me with this first iteration. First, I ran into the same issue I did with the first Xodus Ultra. The cuff on the shoe digs into my lateral malleolus and creates serious pain. When looking closer, it's because several layers of material are sewn together in that spot, creating a bulge in the worst possible location. I literally had to cut that part out of the shoe to be able to wear it comfortably. Second, the longevity of the shoe is questionable. After just 200 miles, I'm seeing wear and tear that I don't get on my Xodus Ultra after 500 miles. For such a high quality and expensive shoe, I need these to last longer.

Amazing shoe, but achilles killer

I really love this shoe, except for one thing... This is my 3rd pair of shoes from the Endorphin line. I have the Speed 3, Pro 4, and Rift. I love the midsole, SpeedRoll, weight, look, basically everything. However, I get terrible rubbing and blisters on my achilles due to the way the heel is built. I'm actually surprised there aren't more complaints about this. The heel curves in toward the achilles, and is a very rough material. Maybe this will change as they break in...I've only got around 30 miles in them, but I have to put bandages or moleskin on the back of my heels before each run or I will suffer. That one flaw aside, these are one of the best, most agile shoes I've ever worn on technical trails.
