The Fresh Foam X Hierro V8 Trail Running Shoe is what we get when New Balance takes its best running technologies to the trail. Their proprietary Fresh Foam X midsoles absorb shock when we run over rocks and roots while providing plenty of energy return, and the Vibram Megagrip rubber gives us gobs of grip on all kinds of terrain, wet or dry. Compared to the V7, the updated Hierro V8 features improved cushioning, a more stable fit, and more protection.

Comfortable
Light, comfortable and works well on and off the sidewalk trail. My favorite hiking shoe in the summer.

This so is a no go.
The hill on this shoe hurts me so bad that I wouldn’t buy another pair not saying that new balances bad I’m just saying this issue itself

Wore only new balance for years
Love the lightweight. On my feet all day so far they are great, appreciate the 4E and the right fit out of the box. Love the quickness and availability straight from the source.

Hierro V8
Hierro V6 & V7 - 4e extra wide, only shoes that fit me over past 5 years, however this new version places space for ankles right back of shoe, hence they do nought but rub ankles and when tighten laces lock down its even worse! Why o why doesn't single shoe company make shoe that fits!?

Too squishy!
Too squishy! They're much too soft to walk in and I've lost my balance more than once!

Comfortable but then
Super comfortable...but after 1 hr of wearing I realized the side is too high on side of ankle. Doesn't dip and contour under side ankle tendons. Instead rub on them. Painful. Socks because otherwise perfect shoe in every other way. Ugh.

Great Shoe!!
One of most comfortable shoe I have worn in quite some time. Exceptional design and quality. Excellent cushioning and padding. I wear a 10.5 with most shoes, with the Hierro I wear an 11. I walk/run a minimum of 4 miles a day, most times more.
