Why We Like The Coleman Cascade Classic Stove

No camping equipment is more iconic than the Coleman lantern—unless it's the Coleman Cascade Classic Stove. Why dump boiling water in a pouch when we can cook breakfasts like Grandpa used to cook—whipping up eggs, bacon, and pancakes with the Cascade's 20,000 BTUs of cooking power and its two burners, which are big enough for a 12-inch and 10-inch pan. The removable chrome-plated grate and aluminized steel cooktop are durable and easy to clean while the double wind guards shield the burners from flame-killing side breezes. This is a campground classic and the author of legendary tailgate breakfasts, shore lunches, and post-hike spaghetti dinners.

Looks great!

It all looks good. I have not had time to try it out. I got it for emergency preparedness.

cascade stove

when I got the stove delivered from Coleman, both burners were bent at a 25 degree angle. Apparently no quality control at the factory.

A classic retro stove you'll love.

In my opinion this is the best Coleman Stove. The clicking igniter is more durable than the push button type and it doesn't move the whole stove when trying to lite-up. The wind deflectors are simple and perform as advertised, the grate is durable and provides adequate support. I expect to have 50 year life with this stove in which it will outlast me. I have been using Coleman camping products since 1963 and this retro stove is the one to buy.

Great stove!

We only rely on Coleman stoves while camping and I love this vintage green color! It works great and we bought it bc it’s big enough for 2 pots to cook at the same time.

Sturdy Stove

I use my Coleman stove primarily for canning meat. The canner gets very heavy after it’s loaded with jars and my glass-top stove can not support the weight. But the Coleman stove can easily take the weight, it’s built well and has a very strong rack to set the canner on. I purchased this model due to the electronic ignition and regulated flame control, both of which are very convenient for the canning process.

This Stove Will Outlive Us All

I did not buy this stove. I was gifted this stove from my parents. I have a feeling I will be passing it on to my own children one day. This stove is indestructible and as efficient as when it was purchased in the 1990's. Easy to use. Easy to transport. It will outlive us all. Buy this stove.

Great stove - with a so-so grate over it

The stove itself works great. The wire grate above the burners needs to be improved though. The front-to-back bars in the grate are spaced too widely, and I tipped my frying pan several times and spilled some of the contents into the interior of the stove. A couple more bars for each burner would be a big help.

Affordable, easy to use, and extremely durable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our stove is over twenty years old and still works perfectly.

Cascade classic stove

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently got to try the cascade classic stove. We lost power where I love due to a storm and the only thing we had was the Corman Coleman cascade classic stove. The kids and I pretended we were camping in the woods! We had a great time and even roasted marshmallows for smores! Thank god for this camping stove! Definitely taking it with us when we go camping in the Adirondacks this summer! I love that it has 2 burners to use. And the shields on both sides protect it from the wind. It was also very easy to hook up and turn on.
