Why We Like The Shimano GF600 MTB Flat Shoe
No matter whether we are kicking it at the jump line or just out for a casual trail ride, having mountain biking-specific shoes makes all the difference. We love the Shimano GF600 MTB shoe to give us enhanced comfort, performance, and protection on the bike. The Shimano GF600 is a premium flat pedal mountain bike shoe with a lightweight, low-top construction. A reinforced toe cap protects against rock strikes, and a layered EVA midsole absorbs impacts, provides stiffness for power transfer, and combines with Shimano's TORBAL 2.0 torsional midsole for excellent edge flexibility when cornering. A lace closure system makes for a simple and secure closure, and Shimano's Ultread GF rubber compound provides exceptional grip both on and off the bike.

Clipless grip with flats freedom
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
These shoes deliver the locked-in feeling of clipless with the full freedom of a pair of flats. The Ultread sole is just the right amount of sticky and hasn't shown even a single pinhole after a few rides, and the hexagonal pattern allows for just enough side-to-side motion to keep my feet comfortable on long climbs. These are perfect shoes for rowdy enduro days, but might be a bit overkill for chill trail rides. They do run a bit on the larger side. I'm normally a 7.5 US, and the size 41 is a definitely roomy in the toe box, but I've had zero heel slip so far.
