Do not buy, find a different brand completely

Terrible pants. Low quality stitching that falls apart after first use. Mountain hardware doesn’t stand behind their products either.

My favorite pants

The Hardwear AP line has been my favorite pants since it was introduced years ago. I own 3 pairs of the regular AP pant which has become my daily pants instead of jeans. I use the AP active pants for climbing and hiking and I appreciate the shorter cut and the material is great for being outside all day. I did notice that the AP Active pant material is a bit of a softer nylon/polyester compared to the old AP pants. It’s very comfortable but I worry about durability. I’ve been using them at the climbing gym and outside for the last 5 months, so far so good. I hope Mountain Hardwear doesn’t change the design and fit of these. They are awesome.

Snags and piles

These pants are some of the most comfortable and flexible pants I have owned, however after wearing them for 4 or 5 days, and a 3 day weekend hike, they are starting to pile and have developed snags in the knees. I will absolutely continue to wear them, but they have already been relegated to a field pant, unfortunately.
