On the second pair
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- 7.5
Been using these boots for about 8 years now and am only just on my second pair. They’re light, robust, warm, and great for waterproof. They do t dry super quick, but no waterproof boot does. These are great.

Quest 4 GTX
I’ve been using these boots in various names (4D 3GTX etc) for many years now and gone through quite a few pairs. These ones I’ve just got as a replacement as the locking hook for the laces had a defect but Salomon replaced them under warranty, albeit under duress. These must be around the 10th or 11th pair I have had and they’re second to none. Comfortable straight out of the box, supremely comfortable once broken in to the point I would wear them over anything else I own or have ever owned!! They’re not cheap but they’re not silly expensive either, often find them with a reasonable discount from various authorised sellers. They don’t last as long as some boots and I find all mine tend to split next to my big toe but they do some serious mileage! Awesome boots.

Poor quality
I have been buying Salomon walking boots for years and I have generally been pleased with the product, comfortable, sturdy and durable. But unfortunately the quality seems to have gone downhill significantly. My previous pair broke down at the seams in a relatively short period of time. Thinking this was bad luck and trusting Salomon, I subsequently purchased a pair of Salomon Quest 4 Gore-Tex and the same problem occurred again. I would not recommend.

Amazing Boot
My wife says I collect boots. And I have to say for Off-road trail use these boots have no equal.

A few months in and they are great
Bought these for a hiking trip in the Azores. Hiked in them for a couple of months prior to work them in though they seemed fine right away. Have been great so far. No blisters through the whole trip and they were fantastic for the Mount Pico hike. Didn't feel as bulky as I was worried they might and are good ankle support. I find some Salomon hiking shoes can fit on the narrow side but these were fine in my regular size

Slippery boots and splits at the toebox
I’ve had 2 pairs now, same issue They are dangerously slippery on anything damp and they split at the toebox. Time for another warranty request ugh

Stable and stiff for my prosthetic leg.
Good fit, stability and weight for every day use. As an amputee LBK I need a stiff and lightweight shoe that will keep me going all day long. Salomon Quest 4 is the ticket for me. I have other shoes that work well also but you can't beat the weight of the Quest 4.
