Great design!
Great shoes. Great design. I love the innovative shoe laces. Just pull and tug under the little pocket under the tongue and done with tighten up the shoe laces. So easy and simple. Love it.

Best waKing boots
This is my second pair of Cross Hike boots. It’s like walking in a favourite pair of bedroom slippers. Best walking boots I’ve ever had.

Falling apart after a couple of hikes
After about 5 short hikes of 2-6 miles the glue is failing and the rubber is pulling away. Also this model just doesn’t hold your foot in place on slopes and hills. I love the ultra models, but these are not quality boots.

Well designed boot that fits well
I found a used pair of these a couple years ago. The size was just 1/2 too small but I knew after wearing it that it was going to accommodate my bunions well so I purchased a pair new. They have been fantastic throughout the past fall and winter seasons. So well that I'm going to get a second pair. The laces are a great feature: Very quick on and off. No additional insole needed with the bed being comfortable on pavement or trails.

Missed the mark
After 2 months of wear on these shoes I'm extremely disappointed with my purchase. The most frustrating part is that they're so close to actually being a great shoe. The rigidity in the sole, heel and top of the foot is spot on and feels agile and light on the trail, especially for a mid foot striker like me. However, as has been mentioned throughout these reviews, the lack of ankle support and poorly designed upper make this shoe nearly unwearable. The top laces are anchored far too low and are either biting uncomfortably into the tongue when laced tight, or loosely clinging to the upper and unable to be tucked in. Because of this I find myself constantly picking out debris that sneak in from the top and am constantly relacing to find a more comfortable position to no avail. The result feels like a low top trail running shoe masquerading as a mid height hiking boot. This could be a cool concept but the execution is poor and these will probably live in my closet till I can pawn them off to a friend as I look for a new hiking shoe elsewhere.

7 Miles on the First Wear
I recently purchased these bad boys and to date love them. First time I put them on I went on a 7 mile hike and felt like they were nearly broken in! Love the grip these provide and expect to take them with me for the Tour du Mont Blanc in July!

Great Travel boots
I've had them for little over a year but recently went to a long trip on Japan and the boots were fantastic. the easy on off cord system worked marvelously for quickly moving on airports and places that required to take the shoes off greatly recommended

Canoe camping foot ware
I have been looking for hiking boots that offer ankle support, are light weight, have good grip for mud and rocks, will dry quickly and are easy on/off. They will be used for “wet foot” canoe camping trips. I just need to drill a drainage hole in the heel to let the water out while canoeing. So far, they are comfortable for hiking. I have worn quick lace trail running/hiking shoes for 10 years.

Fantastic! I knew this item was high quality the moment I picked it up at the store. Very lightweight and trustworthy on the trail.

LOVE 'em
I was looking for some cool waterproof hikers and I compared and contrasted these against several others. I was sold by the reputation of Salomon, by the (description of) quality of the construction of the shoe, by the style of the shoes, and by the ratings from other purchasers. This things are built like a tank and are waaaay too cool (looking)! My first wear was not on a hike, but just around town, and they are VERY comfortable. I love the quick tie (laces), too! Can't wait to really break them in --- and I am confident they will perform as described. Thank you Salomon, for such a great product!
