Why We Like The Chaco Rapid Pro Sandal

Chaco was founded by a raft guide and has made sandals that cater to river lovers for over three decades. To celebrate the strides this company has made, the Rapid Pro Sandal was made. This paddling essential was created with input from raft guides to make our favorite slingback sandals perform even better as we navigate rapids. The jacquard webbing, signature in all of Chaco's sport sandals, is reinforced with 30% more nylon to increase durability. A smaller buckle replaces the original to lessen pressure on the foot when wedging it into the raft. But the true hero of this sandal is the updated sole—Vibram MegaGrip delivers the stickiness necessary to stay stable in the wet rafting environment, and the unique lug design moves water away and improves grip in critical zones.

Feels Like Coming Home

Slipped these on and they felt like coming home. Honestly, the straps feel softer, the grip is sturdy, and I know these are outdoor sandals that will last YEARS. I wear a size 7 in all sandals and casual shoes. 7.5 in anything athletic for a bit more toe room. 7 regular fits true to size and comparatively to my Z3s purchased in 2015, which also has the old vibram outsole, they are the same size and shape foot bed. Photos for reference, both womens 7. Obviously my oldies needed a revamp and still plan to get them re soled but I couldn’t wait and had to experience the 6x the grip! Can’t wait to take these for a real spin but the durability is in the feel right off the bat. Worth every penny!!

I love them

The straps stay tight. My other Chacos would loosen. I love the grip and they’re not too heavy. I like the firmness and style.

NARROW!!

I bought these with really high hopes. I bought these because I have been a long time lover of chacos, especially with the vibram soles and these seemed perfect because I do a bit of river guiding for work. When I received them I was ecstatic to see how high quality the soles were, but was quickly disappointed when I saw that the straps are not as thick as they used to be made. I looked past that though and tried them on. I was once again disappointed when I tried them on. They fit but were a much narrower fit than my other chacos I own. I tried to live with it but they just weren't comfortable. When I compared them to my other chacos (which are NOT wides) and they are significantly narrower. I have considerably narrow feet and tend to gravitate towards narrower fit shoes, but these were just way too narrow. My feet just barely went over the sides. My two prior pairs of chacos with vibram soles are older pairs so maybe chacos are just made this narrow now, but I wish that was made clear. Also, I wish this style was produced in wides as well because I may have considered exchanging them for a wide pair instead of just returning them. Overall, very disappointed but if they were produced in wides maybe I wouldn't be as much.

Great all around shoe wether wet or dry

Loved these chacos. They worked well for hiking in the mountains or star fish gazing on the Oregon coast. They could get wet and be just as comfortable. I typically wear one pair of shoes all day and these fit the bill whether in the ocean, shopping or hiking. . Comfortable, great arch support, adjustable straps make for a good fit. Another reliable Chaco product.

River shoe for all time!

I love these sandals! They have great grip when walking on river rocks and along the shore, not to mention jumping on and off rafts! These are comfortable, durable and as always stylish. These will be your new favorite shoes for summer!!!

Great for Hiking

I have worn these sandals for both trail hiking and trail running, they did great! Even when they got wet, I had no trouble with blisters or them losing traction.

Love my chaco's

I have worn many types of Chaco's over the years and have never been disappointed in my purchase. These Chaco's have been worn on the river, trails and downtown. The grip of the sandals is really great, with the only terrain that challenged the grip was on red clay mud which most outsoles struggle on. The standard width of Chaco's is not fitting my feet very well anymore so going for the wide fit is a much better option for me nowadays.
